Registration Deadlines
- Standard Registration closes at 11:59 pm MDT on Wednesday, August 15th Friday, August 17th.
- Late Registration closes at 11:59 pm MDT on Friday, August 24th (five days prior to event start date).
- Onsite registration will not be offered.

Recreational Courses
- We can accommodate recreational entries on Days 3-6 (Friday through Monday) on the White, Yellow, and Orange courses only. The recreational entry fees are the same as for Day 1 and 2: $11 (regular) / $16 (late). Recreational entries will not have assigned start times but will be using e-punching.
- Anyone who wishes to change their current Day 3-6 entries to recreational should email the registrar as soon as possible, and no later than Friday, August 24th.
- New entries now have the recreational options available in Event Register. Please do not register for both a competitive and a recreational entry on the same day; you need to manually deselect the corresponding competitive entry when adding a recreational one.

Awards & Eligibility
Western States Championship awards will be based on each participant's best two out of three results for the classic-distance national event days (Saturday, Sunday & Monday, September 1, 2 & 3).
Anyone can participate and compete for overall awards at this meet.
To be eligible for the Western States Championship awards, you must meet the following requirements:
- Must be a current member of Orienteering USA, in good standing.
- Must have been a resident of a western state for at least six months since July 1, 2017 — Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming. (These are all states with at least one mountain over 10,000 feet.)
